The State of Israel has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening bilateral relations with Nigeria through expanded cooperation in agriculture, innovation, healthcare, security, education and skills development.
Speaking at Israel’s 78th Independence Anniversary celebration in Abuja, the Israeli Ambassador to Nigeria, Michael Freeman, said Israeli agricultural technology and seedlings are already being used by Nigerian farmers to boost food production and improve yields.
According to Freeman, Israeli companies are actively operating in Nigeria, helping to drive agricultural development through modern farming techniques. He described the collaboration as a partnership aimed at improving food security, strengthening rural communities and creating economic opportunities.

The ambassador also announced that Israel would launch a fifth cohort of its entrepreneurship support programme in 2027. In addition, he disclosed that three fully equipped ambulances donated by Israel are currently being shipped to Nigeria to support emergency healthcare services.
Freeman said the growing partnership between both countries is focused on practical outcomes, including increased agricultural productivity, improved healthcare delivery, entrepreneurship development and technological innovation.
Highlighting Israel’s development journey, he noted that the country transformed itself into a global leader in technology, agriculture and innovation despite limited natural resources, stressing that Nigeria possesses enormous potential through its youthful population, entrepreneurial culture and agricultural resources.
Also speaking at the event, Hannatu Musawa congratulated Israel on its 78th Independence Anniversary and reaffirmed Nigeria’s commitment to deepening cooperation in culture, tourism, agriculture, innovation and the creative economy.

She described Nigeria-Israel relations as a long-standing partnership built on economic transformation, cooperation and shared values, adding that cultural diplomacy remains an important tool for strengthening ties between both nations.
