Members of the Board of Trustees (BoT) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) are currently in session for their 84th meeting, deliberating on key issues affecting the party, particularly in the lead-up to its 103rd National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting.
The high-level gathering comes at a critical time for the opposition party, following a recent Supreme Court ruling that has significantly influenced its leadership structure and internal dynamics.

As the party’s highest advisory body, the BoT is expected to play a central role in guiding the PDP through this period by promoting unity, fostering reconciliation among aggrieved stakeholders, and offering recommendations on constitutional and lawful steps to stabilise the party.
Sources indicate that discussions are focused on preparations for the upcoming NEC meeting, where major decisions are anticipated, including strategies to reposition the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The NEC is also expected to consider key organisational matters and take decisive steps aimed at strengthening party cohesion and restoring public confidence.

The PDP reaffirmed its commitment to internal democracy, unity, and adherence to the rule of law as it navigates what observers describe as a defining moment in its political trajectory.
