OCH’IDOMA COMMENDS EFCC’S ANTI-CORRUPTION EFFORTS, URGES FAIRNESS IN OPERATIONS

The Paramount Ruler of Idoma Kingdom, Oturkpo, Benue State, Dr Elaigwu Obagaji John, has commended the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for its sustained efforts in the fight against corruption in Nigeria.

The monarch made the commendation on Thursday, April 30, 2026, when he received the Acting Zonal Director of the Makurdi Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Assistant Commander of EFCC (ACE I), Effa Imoh Okim, during a courtesy visit to his palace in Oturkpo.

Speaking during the visit, the traditional ruler praised the commission’s anti-corruption drive, noting that its activities have earned public confidence and admiration. He, however, urged EFCC operatives to remain professional, fair, and consistent in the discharge of their responsibilities.

“All eyes are on you. You are doing a good job and you have captured our hearts,” he said, while encouraging the agency not to be discouraged in its mandate to rid the nation of corruption.

Responding, the Acting Zonal Director of the Makurdi Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Assistant Commander of EFCC (ACE I), Effa Imoh Okim said the commission was poised to it’s ongoing efforts to strengthen collaboration between traditional institutions and anti-corruption agencies in promoting accountability and good governance across the country.
