The Nigeria Police Force has appointed Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Anietie Iniedu Okokon as its new Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO).

Okokon takes over from Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Anthony Okon Placid, who assumed the position barely three months ago following the appointment of IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu as the 23rd Inspector-General of Police.

Before his appointment, CSP Okokon served as the head of the Complaint Response Unit (CRU) at the Force Headquarters, Abuja, where he played a key role in handling public complaints and strengthening police-community relations.

The new police spokesman is the son of the late Commissioner of Police, Okokon Iniedu, who once served as Commissioner of Police in charge of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Command.

A native of Etinan Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, Okokon’s appointment places him at the forefront of the Force’s public communication and image management efforts.

His emergence as FPRO is expected to further enhance public engagement and strategic communication within the Nigeria Police Force.
