The Nigerian Meteorological Agency has forecast cloudy conditions, thunderstorms and rainfall across several parts of the country from Wednesday to Friday.
NiMet, in a weather outlook issued in Abuja on Tuesday, said different parts of the northern, North-Central and southern regions were likely to experience thunderstorms and varying rainfall during the three days.
For Wednesday, the agency predicted cloudy conditions over the northern region, with morning thunderstorms and light rainfall expected in parts of Taraba and Kebbi states.
It said thunderstorms accompanied by moderate rainfall were likely later in the day across parts of Taraba, Borno, Yobe, Bauchi, Sokoto, Katsina, Zamfara, Jigawa, Kano and Kaduna states.
In the North-Central region, morning thunderstorms with light rainfall were expected in parts of Nasarawa, Niger, Benue and the Federal Capital Territory, while moderate rainfall was forecast across most parts of the region later in the day.
The southern region was also expected to experience cloudy weather, with morning rainfall likely in parts of Lagos, Ondo, Ogun, Oyo, Rivers, Bayelsa, Delta, Edo, Cross River, Abia, Imo, Ebonyi and Akwa Ibom states.
NiMet said moderate rainfall could affect most parts of the southern region later on Wednesday.
For Thursday, the agency forecast partly cloudy conditions over the northern region, with morning thunderstorms and light rainfall expected in parts of Jigawa, Kano, Borno, Yobe, Bauchi, Gombe and Kaduna states.
By the afternoon or evening, moderate thunderstorms were expected in parts of Jigawa, Kano, Kaduna, Yobe, Bauchi, Gombe, Adamawa and Taraba states.
The North-Central region was expected to have sunny skies with patches of clouds, alongside possible morning thunderstorms and light rainfall in parts of the FCT, Nasarawa, Plateau, Niger and Benue states.
NiMet said moderate thunderstorms were expected across the entire North-Central region later in the day.
In the South, light morning rainfall was forecast over parts of Ondo, Ogun, Abia, Imo, Enugu, Ebonyi, Lagos, Akwa Ibom and Cross River states, with continued rainfall expected across most parts of the region later in the day.
The agency also warned of a high possibility of flooding in parts of Imo, Abia, Ebonyi, Akwa Ibom and Cross River states during the forecast period.
For Friday, NiMet predicted partly cloudy skies over the northern region, with possible morning thunderstorms and moderate rainfall in Taraba and Adamawa states.
It said thunderstorms accompanied by moderate rainfall were expected later in the day across Borno, Yobe, Bauchi, Gombe, Kano, Jigawa, Sokoto, Kebbi, Zamfara, Adamawa and Taraba states.

Most parts of the region were expected to experience moderate thunderstorms later in the day.
In the southern region, NiMet predicted cloudy conditions with moderate morning rainfall in parts of Ondo, Ebonyi, Lagos, Ogun, Rivers, Akwa Ibom and Cross River states. Moderate rainfall was also expected across most parts of the region later in the day.
NiMet warned that strong winds could precede thunderstorms in affected areas and urged residents to take necessary precautions.
The agency advised motorists to avoid driving during heavy rainfall and urged residents to secure loose objects that could be blown away by strong winds.
It also advised residents in areas prone to flash floods to activate emergency response measures, disconnect electrical appliances during storms and stay away from tall trees to avoid injuries from falling branches.
Airline operators were advised to obtain airport-specific weather reports from NiMet to aid flight planning.
The agency further urged members of the public to remain updated through its official weather forecasts and alerts.
