The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has cautioned the public against accepting as authentic, the results of its nationwide primaries currently circulating on social media, insisting that no official outcome has yet been released by the party.
In a statement issued on Sunday by the National Publicity Secretary, Osa Director, Esq., the party said the results being shared online from the primaries conducted on May 28 and 29, 2026, are unofficial and should be disregarded.
According to the statement, the authentic results of the exercise are currently before the party’s National Executive Council (NEC), which is vested with the responsibility of reviewing and announcing the outcome of the primaries.

“The general public is hereby urged to disregard the various results circulating on social media as the outcome of the nationwide primaries conducted by the Nigeria Democratic Congress,” the statement said.
The party further announced that, on the directive of its National Leader, Distinguished Senator Seriake Dickson, a meeting of the NEC has been scheduled to deliberate on matters arising from the primaries.
A pre-NEC meeting is expected to be held in Abuja on June 2, 2026, while the main NEC meeting has been fixed for June 3, 2026.
The NDC stated that the official results of the primaries would be made public only after the conclusion of the party’s internal processes and the submission of its list of candidates to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The development comes amid growing interest among party members and political observers over the outcome of the primaries, which are expected to determine the party’s candidates for forthcoming elections.
The party assured stakeholders that they would be duly informed once the official results are approved and released by the appropriate party organs.
