Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, has assured the South-South Development Commission (SSDC) of his administration’s support and collaboration in delivering meaningful development across the region.
Governor Diri gave the assurance on Thursday while receiving the Board and Management of the Commission at Government House, Yenagoa.
The delegation was led by the Chairman of the Commission, Rt. Hon. Chibudom Nwuche, and the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Ms Usoro Akpabio.

Welcoming the delegation, the governor described the board as pioneers entrusted with the responsibility of laying a solid foundation for the newly established Commission.
He emphasised that effective collaboration between the Commission and the six South-South state governments would be critical to achieving its mandate.
According to Governor Diri, the South-South states share common developmental challenges and stand to benefit more through coordinated efforts and partnerships that will ensure equitable, impactful and people-centred interventions.

The governor reaffirmed the commitment of the Bayelsa State Government to partner with the Commission in advancing the socio-economic development and prosperity of the state and the South-South region.
