The Kano State Sports Commission has announced the death of its Secretary, Bashir Maizare, who passed away on Wednesday night.
The commission confirmed his death in a statement issued on Thursday by its Public Relations Officer, Ashiru Gidan-Tudu.
According to the statement, funeral prayers for the deceased were scheduled to take place on Thursday at his residence in Kofar Wambai, Kano State.
The commission described Maizare’s passing as a significant loss to the state’s sporting community, expressing sadness over the death of one of its senior officials.
It extended condolences to his family, colleagues, associates and members of the sports community affected by his passing.
The commission also prayed for Allah to forgive his shortcomings, grant him eternal rest and give his family the strength to bear the loss.
Maizare’s death comes as a loss to the commission, where he served as Secretary and contributed to the administration of sporting activities in Kano State.
