The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has fixed Monday, May 11, 2026, for its annual Policy Meeting on Admissions, with key education stakeholders expected to converge in Abuja.
The meeting will take place at the Body of Benchers Auditorium, Plot 688, Institute and Research District, FCC Phase III, Jabi.
In a statement signed by JAMB’s Public Communication Advisor, Dr Fabian Benjamin, the Board disclosed that the Minister of Education, Dr Maruf Olatunji Alausa, will unveil critical policy directions that will guide the 2026/2027 admission process.

JAMB described the annual policy meeting as a pivotal platform where stakeholders deliberate and decide on key admission issues, including the minimum acceptable scores for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), as well as guidelines for admissions into tertiary institutions across the country.
According to the Board, the meeting will formally set the tone for the upcoming admission cycle and reinforce the need for strict compliance with established regulations.
Expected participants include Vice-Chancellors, Rectors, Provosts, Registrars, and admission officers from tertiary institutions, alongside regulatory agencies such as the National Universities Commission (NUC), National Commission for Colleges of Education (NCCE), and the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE).
Other stakeholders, including the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) and the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), are also scheduled to deliver goodwill messages.
The event will also feature the 6th edition of the National Tertiary Admissions Performance-Merit Awards (NATAP-M), aimed at promoting transparency, accountability, and adherence to admission guidelines in Nigeria’s tertiary education system.

The outcome of the meeting is expected to shape admission processes nationwide ahead of the new academic session.
