Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, has called on trainers and instructors of the Police Mobile Force, PMF, to prioritise continuous learning, tactical competence and operational readiness in the face of emerging security challenges.
The IGP made the call on Friday while opening a training course for PMF trainers and instructors at the PMF Training College, Ende-Hills, Nasarawa State.
The programme brings together selected PMF trainers and instructors from across the country to strengthen their instructional capacity and tactical skills for improved performance across the Force’s 84 PMF Squadrons.
IGP Disu described the training as a strategic investment in the operational future of the PMF, stressing that the changing security environment requires continuous adaptation, discipline and professionalism.
He charged the participants to become force multipliers by effectively transferring the knowledge and skills acquired during the training to personnel in their respective formations.
The IGP also emphasised that the modern PMF must combine tactical capability with intelligence, precision, discipline, professionalism and respect for the law.
He urged the trainers to focus on building practical competence rather than merely acquiring certificates, noting that operational readiness must become a continuous culture within the Force.
The ceremony was attended by senior police officers, including the DIG Operations, Umar Shehu Nadada; AIG in charge of the PMF, Alonyenu Idu; and the Commandant of the PMF Training College, DCP Sunday Audu Peter.
The Executive Governor of Nasarawa State, Engr. Abdullahi Sule, who briefly attended the ceremony, congratulated the IGP on his leadership and efforts to strengthen the Nigeria Police Force.
The event featured tactical displays and practical demonstrations by personnel undergoing the training, showcasing their discipline and operational capabilities.
The Nigeria Police Force reaffirmed its commitment to continuous professional training, modernisation and improved welfare to ensure that the PMF remains a disciplined, agile and dependable tactical force for the protection of lives and property across the country.
