The Governor of Zamfara State, Dauda Lawal, has received the Chief of Defence Staff, General Olufemi Oluyede, at the Government House in Gusau during an official visit aimed at strengthening collaboration on security operations in the state.

The visit, which took place earlier today, brought discussions centered on ongoing military efforts to address insecurity in Zamfara and other parts of the North-West region.

According to the governor, the Chief of Defence Staff acknowledged the state government’s continuous support to troops engaged in various security operations across the state.

Governor Lawal reiterated that security remains the top priority of his administration, stressing that development efforts can only yield meaningful impact in a stable environment.

He emphasized the importance of sustained cooperation between the state government and the armed forces in tackling insecurity, noting that collective action remains essential to restoring lasting peace.

“Our administration remains fully committed to supporting the military and other security agencies in their efforts to rid Zamfara State of criminal activities,” he stated.

The governor further assured that his government would continue to provide necessary assistance to security agencies to enhance their operational effectiveness.

The visit is part of ongoing engagements between state authorities and military leadership aimed at strengthening coordination in the fight against insecurity in the region.
