Renowned Pan-African content creator and social media influencer, Kevin Chinedu, popularly known as “Governor Amunike of Olayini,” has announced his partnership with the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Akwa Ibom State Council, for the forthcoming Akwa Ibom 2027 Election Debate.

The debate, organised by the NUJ, is aimed at providing a neutral, credible and unbiased platform for candidates contesting various political offices in Akwa Ibom State during the 2027 general elections.

In a partnership acceptance letter addressed to the Chairman of the Debate Planning Committee, Comrade Ndanti Ekuh, Amunike said the objectives of the initiative aligned with the values and vision of Olayini State, particularly its emphasis on using media, entertainment and public engagement to promote accountability and meaningful conversations about leadership.

“I am pleased to formally communicate my acceptance of the partnership invitation in principle.”

He added that credible and independent platforms were essential to enabling political candidates to engage directly with voters, explain their programmes and defend their policies.

“I strongly believe in the importance of creating credible and independent platforms where political candidates can engage directly with the people, present their ideas, defend their policies, and allow voters to make informed decisions.”

Amunike thanked the NUJ administration led by Comrade Nsibiet John and the debate planning committee for considering Kevinblak/Olayini State as a partner for the election debate.

He expressed his readiness to work with the planning committee and the Akwa Ibom NUJ towards making the event impactful, credible, independent and memorable.

The partnership adds another layer of media, entertainment and digital engagement to the NUJ initiative, which is designed to deepen public participation and encourage issue-based scrutiny of candidates ahead of the 2027 elections.
