Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, has promised to construct a standard hospital to serve the people of Etche and Omuma Local Government Areas before the expiration of his administration.

Fubara committed to the commissioning of the Egwi-Afara-Mba Road in Etche Local Government Area.

The governor said his administration had already completed the reconstruction of the three zonal hospitals across Rivers State, adding that the planned hospital would further improve access to quality healthcare for residents of Etche and Omuma.

Egwi-Afara-Mba Road completed

Speaking on the road project, Fubara said its completion demonstrated his administration’s determination to deliver infrastructure despite the political challenges it faced in 2024.

He noted that the project was flagged off and completed under his administration despite what he described as the peak of the political crisis at the time.

The governor said the completed road would contribute to improved connectivity and development in communities within the area.

Earlier, the Commissioner for Works, Professor Temple Nwofor, provided details of the project and said its completion would make movement easier for residents.

Nwofor noted that the improved road network would give people easier access to their communities, while facilitating transportation and economic activities in the area.
