FUBARA HAILS NIGERIAN ARMY AT 2026 ARMY DAY GALA

Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has commended the Nigerian Army for its sacrifices and unwavering commitment to protecting the nation, describing security as the bedrock of peace, stability and national development.

The governor made the remarks at the Nigerian Army Day Celebration (NADCEL) 2026 Gala Night held in Port Harcourt, where he was represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr Tammy Danagogo.

Fubara paid tribute to fallen military personnel who lost their lives in the line of duty, while expressing solidarity with their families for their sacrifices.

He noted that the nation’s peace and progress are sustained by the courage and dedication of members of the Armed Forces who continue to safeguard lives and property.

The governor also praised the collaboration between the Rivers State Government and the Nigerian Army’s 6 Division, saying the partnership has strengthened peace, security and economic development across the state.

He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting the welfare and well-being of military personnel, stressing that the Armed Forces remain critical partners in ensuring lasting stability.

In his address, the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede, said the gala night was a celebration of the courage, dedication and resilience of officers, soldiers and their families.

He described this year’s Army Day celebration as another milestone in the Nigerian Army’s pursuit of excellence, professionalism and selfless service to the nation.

The event attracted several distinguished guests, including former Chiefs of Army Staff, former Chiefs of Air Staff, former Chiefs of Defence Staff, military chiefs from 16 countries, senior serving and retired military officers, as well as top government officials and other dignitaries.
