Governor Siminalayi Fubara has extended Eid-el-Kabir greetings to Muslim faithfuls in Rivers State and across the country, urging Nigerians to embrace sacrifice, compassion, unity and peaceful coexistence.

In a statement issued on Tuesday by his Chief Press Secretary, Onwuka Nzeshi, the governor described Eid-el-Kabir as a period for deep reflection on the values of sacrifice, generosity and mutual understanding among citizens, irrespective of religious beliefs.

Fubara also commended the Muslim community for its contributions to peace, economic growth and social harmony in Rivers State.

According to him, the celebration should serve as an opportunity for both Muslims and non-Muslims to reaffirm their commitment to peaceful coexistence, mutual respect and collective progress.

The governor stressed that Nigeria’s religious diversity should be seen as a source of strength rather than division.

“As you gather with family, friends, and neighbours to share meals and offer prayers, I urge you to extend hands of kindness to the less privileged in our midst,” he said.

“Let the spirit of sacrifice that defines this festival inspire us to give more, forgive more, and love more.”

Fubara prayed for peace, good health and divine blessings for Muslim faithful and their families during the celebration.

“On this sacred occasion, I pray that Almighty Allah accepts your sacrifices, forgives your shortcomings, and grants you and your families peace, good health, and abundant blessings,” he stated.

The governor further expressed hope that the lessons of Eid-el-Kabir would inspire Nigerians to work together in building a more united, prosperous and just society.

“May the lessons of Eid-el-Kabir guide us all as we work to make Rivers State and Nigeria a place of justice, prosperity, and unity for every citizen,” he added.
