The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has disowned a recruitment notice circulating on social media, which asked applicants who were not shortlisted or had not received invitation messages to report to FRSC camps for verification.
The agency described the notice as fake and unauthorised, urging members of the public to disregard it.
In a statement published on its official X account on Sunday, the FRSC said the fraudulent notice directed affected applicants to report to the nearest FRSC camp on or before September 25, 2026.
“The Federal Road Safety Corps has categorically disowned a viral notice circulating on social media directing applicants who were not shortlisted or did not receive invitation messages to report to the nearest FRSC camp for verification,” the agency said.
According to the Corps, no such directive was issued by the organisation.
It consequently advised applicants not to visit any FRSC office, camp or training institution based on the information contained in the circulating notice.
Recruitment exercise
The FRSC commenced its 2026 nationwide recruitment exercise in July, inviting qualified Nigerians to apply for positions across three categories.
They include the Officer Cadre, comprising Superintendent Route Commander, Route Commander/Deputy Route Commander and Assistant Route Commander positions; the Marshal Inspectorate Cadre; and the Road Marshal Assistant Cadre.
The agency’s recruitment portal currently indicates that applications have closed, while existing applicants will be contacted regarding subsequent stages of the exercise.
The FRSC urged applicants to rely exclusively on its official communication channels for updates concerning the recruitment process.
Warning against fraudsters
The Corps also warned applicants against making payments or disclosing personal information to individuals claiming to have influence over the recruitment process.
It cautioned members of the public against clicking on links or acting on recruitment messages circulated through unauthorised channels.
The agency said individuals who exploit the recruitment exercise to defraud members of the public would be reported to relevant law enforcement authorities.
It urged applicants and other members of the public to disregard the fake notice and remain vigilant against recruitment-related scams.
