The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has invited the Executive Chairman of the Osun State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Ibukun Fadipe, for questioning over issues linked to the management of Federal Government counterpart grants and the utilisation of intervention funds.
The invitation was conveyed in a letter dated May 19, 2026, signed by the EFCC Director of Investigation, Abdulkarim Chukkol.
According to the commission, Fadipe has been directed to appear at the agency’s headquarters in Abuja on May 26, 2026, as part of an ongoing investigation.

The anti-graft agency stated that the inquiry focuses on the use of counterpart grants and the execution of projects under the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) scheme in Osun State from 2024 to the present.
The EFCC noted that the invitation was issued pursuant to the provisions of Section 38 (1) and (2) of the EFCC Establishment Act, 2004.
According to details contained in the correspondence, the commission requested information and documentation relating to eight areas associated with the administration of grants and implementation of projects.
Among the materials requested are evidence of counterpart funds submitted to UBEC for matching grants from 2024 onward, as well as action plans and guidelines relating to the use of the funds.
The commission also requested records of projects executed under the scheme and documents showing how the intervention funds were utilised.
Further details sought by investigators include contract award records, contract agreements, payment documents, and banking information connected with the transactions.

The EFCC additionally requested payment vouchers, approval documents, project status reports, and records submitted to UBEC before the release of the funds.
According to the letter, Fadipe was asked to appear in person with all relevant documents for an interview through the Head of the Procurement Fraud Section at the commission’s headquarters in Abuja.
The investigation forms part of the EFCC’s broader efforts aimed at ensuring transparency and accountability in the management of public funds and intervention programmes.
