Afrobeats star, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has publicly criticised former Osun State Governor and current Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Gboyega Oyetola, accusing him of political desperation.
In a series of social media posts on Tuesday, the singer described Oyetola as the “most desperate politician in the world” while dismissing what he claimed were political plans aimed at influencing developments in Osun State.
“The most desperate politician in the world is @GboyegaOyetola, very embarrassing,” Davido wrote. In another post, he added, “Oyetola, your plan no go work.”

Davido’s comments come amid growing political tension in Osun State ahead of the August 15 governorship election.
Recently, the Accord Party alleged that suspected thugs linked to the All Progressives Congress (APC) attacked the campaign office of Governor Ademola Adeleke and the party’s secretariat in Osogbo, the state capital.
National Chairman of the Accord Party, Maxwell Mgbuden, claimed the incident marked the second attack on the governor’s campaign office within two weeks. He alleged that armed men fired shots at the premises, damaging windows and several offices, including that of the party’s Osun State chairman, Victor Akande.
According to Mgbuden, the attackers also wrote “Say no to automatic ticket” on the walls, a move he alleged was intended to destabilise opposition activities in the state.

Davido, who joined the Accord Party earlier this year, currently serves as head of youth mobilisation for the party’s campaign council. In April, he inaugurated the Imole Youth Mobilisation Campaign Council, strengthening his involvement in the party’s activities ahead of the election.
