Dangote Petroleum Refinery has increased the gantry price of Premium Motor Spirit, popularly known as petrol, from N1,265 to N1,350 per litre, effective Saturday, September 12, 2026.
The latest adjustment represents an N85 increase per litre and marks the fourth upward review of the refinery’s petrol price since August 21.
The refinery had raised its gantry price from N1,165 to N1,185 per litre on August 21, followed by increases to N1,200 on August 26 and N1,265 on August 29.
With the latest adjustment, the refinery’s petrol price has risen by N185 per litre, representing about 15.9 per cent, in 22 days.
In a circular issued by its Group Commercial Operations on Friday, the refinery also announced an increase in its coastal delivery price from N1,669,545 to N1,783,530 per metric tonne.
The company directed customers to return existing Authority to Collect documents for repricing, adding that new volume contracts would be issued to facilitate the immediate resumption of loading.
The latest increase comes amid elevated international crude oil prices, with Brent crude recently trading above $104 per barrel and having earlier risen beyond $107 as tensions involving the United States and Iran disrupted oil supplies through the Strait of Hormuz.
Reduced oil flows through the strategic waterway, alongside attacks on tankers and restrictions on shipping, have heightened concerns over global supply and increased pressure on refined petroleum product prices.
The refinery had yet to provide further details on the latest price adjustment as of the time of filing this report.
