China Communications Construction Company (CCCC) has rescued four people trapped beneath the rubble of a collapsed building on Ogbalu Street, Independence Layout, Enugu State.
The company mobilised heavy-duty equipment and specialised personnel to support emergency rescue operations following the building collapse earlier this week.
CCCC deployed excavators, payloaders and other machinery to the site to assist in searching for trapped victims, clearing debris and supporting safety assessments around the affected structure.
Speaking to journalists after the operation, the company’s Project Manager, Jin Haibing, confirmed that four people had been successfully rescued from the rubble.
Haibing said the company intervened to complement ongoing rescue efforts and ensure that additional equipment and expertise were made available to assist victims of the incident.
He said CCCC, which has been involved in infrastructure development projects in Nigeria for several years, remained committed to supporting host communities and contributing to the wellbeing of Nigerians.
According to him, the company’s swift response reflected its concern for the safety and welfare of residents in communities where it operates.
Haibing added that the intervention demonstrated the values of friendship, solidarity and mutual support that underpin relations between Nigeria and China.
CCCC said it had participated in several infrastructure projects across Nigeria and would continue to work with local communities and other stakeholders.
The company reaffirmed its commitment to deploying its technical expertise, equipment and resources to support communities and contribute to the development of Nigerian cities and infrastructure.
