Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has been nominated for the Premier League Player of the Month award for August, as he targets a record-equalling seventh success in the individual honour.

Fernandes is among eight players shortlisted for the first EA SPORTS Premier League Player of the Month award of the 2026/27 season after making a strong start to the campaign.

The Portuguese midfielder earned his nomination following a standout performance in Manchester United’s 5-2 victory over Ipswich Town, where he scored a hat-trick and provided an assist.

His three-goal display saw him become one of the leading contenders for the award, adding to a growing list of individual achievements after he previously won the Premier League Player of the Month award six times, matching Cristiano Ronaldo’s tally.

A seventh Player of the Month award would move Fernandes level with the record holders for the most Premier League monthly awards.

The Manchester United midfielder faces competition from players including Cole Palmer and João Pedro of Chelsea, Rayan Cherki of Manchester City, Riccardo Calafiori of Arsenal, Mamadou Sangaré of Brentford, Konstantinos Tzolakis of Hull City and Yoane Wissa of Newcastle United.

The winner will be decided through a combination of fan votes, football experts and Premier League captains.
