The Rivers State House of Assembly Screening Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has disqualified 56 aspirants from participating in the party’s forthcoming primary election.
The screening committee, chaired by Muraine Ajibola, cleared only 33 out of the 98 aspirants screened between May 9 and 10.

According to the committee’s report dated May 10, the affected aspirants failed to meet the requirements of the screening exercise.
Notably, several aspirants linked to the camp of Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, as well as allies of politician Tonye Cole, were among those disqualified.
Prominent figures reportedly affected include Chijoke Ihunwo, Victor Oko-Jumbo and Sokari Goodboy.
The report was jointly signed by Ajibola, the committee secretary Ishake Yamawe, and committee member Danjuma Samuel.
