The Imo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress has pledged to comply with directives issued by the party’s National Working Committee while reaffirming its support for Governor Hope Uzodimma ahead of the 2027 political activities.

Party leaders in the state said that the APC remained united and committed to internal democracy, insisting that all stakeholders would abide by decisions taken by the national leadership of the party.
The development comes amid recent political realignments within the APC, including the reconstitution of committees for the party’s 2026 national convention. Governor Uzodimma, who initially chaired the convention coordination committee, was later reassigned following consultations by the party leadership.
Despite the changes, APC stakeholders in Imo described Uzodimma as a central figure in strengthening the party’s structure in the state. They credited his leadership with expanding the party’s influence across the 27 local government areas and maintaining cohesion among members.
Speaking during recent party engagements in Owerri, Uzodimma urged members to remain disciplined and loyal to the APC, stressing that unity would be critical to the party’s future electoral success. He also assured aspirants and stakeholders of transparent and credible internal processes.
However, political observers in the area said the renewed endorsement of the governor reflects ongoing efforts by the Imo APC to prevent internal divisions as preparations gradually begin for the 2027 general elections.
