Akwa Ibom State Governor, Umo Eno, has expressed confidence that Nigerians will grant President Bola Tinubu a second term in office during the 2027 general election, citing what he described as the administration’s economic reforms and support for state governments.
Speaking during an interview on Arise Television on Tuesday, Eno commended the Federal Government for providing resources that have enabled states to implement critical development projects and social welfare programmes.

According to the governor, the availability of funding has contributed significantly to infrastructure development in Akwa Ibom State, including the construction of roads, healthcare facilities, schools, and housing projects aimed at improving the lives of residents.
Eno highlighted several initiatives undertaken by his administration, noting that over 1,300 kilometres of roads have been constructed, while hundreds of homes have been provided for vulnerable citizens. He also pointed to investments in healthcare and education, including the establishment of hospitals across local government areas and the development of solar-powered schools.
The governor further praised Tinubu’s economic policies, particularly the ongoing tax reforms and efforts to stabilise the national currency. He argued that improvements in the naira’s performance against major foreign currencies and the country’s foreign reserve position demonstrate progress under the current administration.
“Considering the reforms and the level of support being provided to states, there are strong reasons for Nigerians to allow the President to complete the work he has started,” Eno said.
Addressing the political outlook ahead of the 2027 election, the governor reaffirmed his support for Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC), expressing optimism about the party’s chances in Akwa Ibom State.

He pointed to the APC’s growing political presence in the state, noting that the party currently controls the majority of elective positions, including seats in the National Assembly, the State House of Assembly, and local government councils.
While acknowledging the presence of opposition parties, Eno maintained that the APC remains firmly rooted across the state and is well-positioned for future electoral contests.
The governor added that democratic competition remains important, stressing that voters should have multiple options at the polls while expressing confidence in his party’s grassroots strength.
