AKWA IBOM FIRST LADY DESIGNATE JOINS RENEWED HOPE OUTREACH

Coordinator the Office of the First Lady of Akwa Ibom State, Lady Helen Eno Obareki, has joined the First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, and other state First Ladies for the Renewed Hope Initiative, RHI, Food Outreach Scheme held in Rivers State.

The event, which took place in Port Harcourt, was organised as part of the social investment programmes of the Renewed Hope Initiative aimed at supporting vulnerable Nigerians.

Senator Oluremi Tinubu, who is also the National Chairman of the Renewed Hope Initiative, was represented at the programme by a member of the RHI Governing Council and former Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Dr. Betta Edu.

Welcoming participants to the event, the First Lady of Rivers State, Lady Valerie Fubara, disclosed that more than one thousand, eight hundred families were selected as direct beneficiaries of the outreach programme.

She described the initiative as a symbol of hope and compassionate leadership at a time many Nigerians are facing economic challenges.

Lady Fubara noted that Rivers State became the twenty-sixth beneficiary of the Food Outreach Scheme, which was launched in March 2024 to provide food support to vulnerable persons, including people living with disabilities and low-income households across Nigeria.

The programme has so far reached twenty-five states and the Federal Capital Territory.

Lady Helen Eno Obareki attended the event alongside the Coordinators of the Offices of the First Ladies of Delta and Benue states.

Highlights of the programme included the distribution of food items to beneficiaries and cultural presentations by various groups.
