The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has dismissed reports suggesting it is in discussions with the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) ahead of a pending court judgment, describing the claims as false and misleading.

In a statement made available to the public, the party clarified that its leadership is not engaged in any form of negotiation or alliance talks with any political party at the moment.

The ADC maintained that its priority remains the ongoing legal challenge against what it described as “illegal actions” taken against its leadership by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and alleged agents of the ruling party.

According to the statement, the party is focused on pursuing justice through the courts, stressing that overturning the action is essential to upholding the rule of law and protecting Nigeria’s multiparty democratic system.

“We are fully committed to ensuring that the illegal action taken against our leadership is upturned. This is critical to safeguarding democracy,” the statement noted.

While reaffirming its openness to building a broader opposition coalition in the future, the party emphasized that it has no plans to abandon its platform, describing such suggestions as speculative, unfounded.

The ADC also expressed confidence in the judiciary, urging it to uphold its independence and resist any pressure that could undermine democratic institutions.

It called on the public to disregard the circulating reports, insisting that its leadership remains focused and resolute in defending the party and strengthening Nigeria’s democracy.
