President Bola Tinubu is scheduled to visit Akwa Ibom and Rivers states on Friday and Saturday, November 6 and 7, for the commissioning of infrastructure projects and political engagements ahead of the 2027 general elections.

According to the presidential itinerary outlined in a statement attributed to his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President will begin his visit in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital, before proceeding to Port Harcourt.

In Akwa Ibom, Tinubu is expected to commission several projects executed by Governor Umo Eno’s administration, including the new International Terminal Building at Victor Attah International Airport.

Other projects scheduled for inauguration include the Airport Hospital, Ibom Aviation Village, Airport–Okopedi Road, Ring Road 3, AKWA-GIS Office Complex, Security Command and Control Centre and ARISE Palm Resort.

Governor Eno has declared Friday a work-free day to enable residents, particularly civil servants, to participate in activities marking the presidential visit.

The governor announced the decision after inspecting projects scheduled for commissioning, describing the occasion as an opportunity to showcase infrastructure developments in the state.

A public reception and political rally are also scheduled at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo.

Meanwhile, the Akwa Ibom State Police Command has announced security arrangements ahead of the visit, including restrictions on drones and fireworks.

The command also warned motorists about temporary restrictions on roads designated for presidential movements.

Following the Akwa Ibom engagements, Tinubu is expected to travel to Port Harcourt on Saturday for an All Progressives Congress presidential campaign rally.

The Rivers event forms part of the APC’s nationwide mobilisation programme ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

According to the party’s previously published campaign timetable, Port Harcourt is among the locations scheduled to host the President during the campaign.

The planned visit follows the APC’s presidential campaign flag-off in Kaduna on October 24.

Political stakeholders, party officials and supporters are expected to attend the Rivers rally.

The two-state itinerary combines official government activities in Akwa Ibom with political engagements in both states.

Authorities have urged residents to cooperate with security personnel and observe traffic arrangements during the presidential movements.
