Voting is underway in Gombe, Kano, Bauchi and Delta states as residents elect representatives to fill five vacant legislative seats.
The bye-elections are being held in the Gombe/Kwami/Funakaye Federal Constituency in Gombe State; Dawakin Kudu State Constituency in Kano State; Sakwa and Disina State Constituencies in Bauchi State; and Udu State Constituency in Delta State.
The exercise covers one federal constituency and four state constituencies.
Voters are expected to undergo accreditation before casting their ballots, while election officials and security personnel have been deployed for the exercise.
The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has urged voters and other stakeholders to conduct themselves peacefully and report election-related emergencies through appropriate official channels.
Voting, counting and collation are expected to continue in the affected constituencies, with official results to be announced by INEC after the electoral process is completed.
