Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, on Thursday visited the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, in Abuja as part of his post-election consultations following his re-election.
A photograph of the meeting shared on X by Wike’s media aide, Lere Olayinka, showed Adeleke and the FCT Minister shaking hands while holding the governor’s certificate of return jointly.

Olayinka captioned the photograph, “Governor Ademola Adeleke visits the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike.”
The visit came a few hours after Adeleke held a closed-door meeting with President Bola Tinubu at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa.
Adeleke had arrived at the Villa at about 5:20 pm, accompanied by the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, and other Osun State officials, including his campaign Director-General and Chief of Staff.
During the meeting with Tinubu, the governor presented his certificate of return and thanked the President for what he described as his commitment to allowing the electoral process to run its course without interference.
Speaking briefly with State House correspondents after the meeting, Adeleke said his visit to Tinubu was primarily to appreciate the President for respecting the democratic process.
“Mr President, the father of the nation, fought for this democracy. That is why he allowed a free and fair election, and that is the result,” Adeleke said.

Adeleke, who contested the August 15 governorship election on the platform of the Accord Party, was declared the winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission after securing 511,067 votes.
He defeated the All Progressives Congress candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, who polled 444,815 votes.
The governor won in 19 of the state’s 30 local government areas.
