Several passengers travelling from Lagos to Atlanta have been left stranded at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, following the cancellation of two scheduled flights by Delta Air Lines.
The airline initially cancelled Flight DL9895, which was scheduled to depart Lagos for Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport on Sunday, August 23, 2026.
Following the cancellation, affected passengers were reportedly rebooked on another Delta flight scheduled for Tuesday, August 25.
However, the rescheduled flight was also cancelled, leaving travellers facing further delays and uncertainty over their journey.
In a notification to affected passengers, Delta attributed the latest cancellation to a shortage of available crew.
The airline apologised for the disruption, informing passengers that Flight DL9895 from Lagos to Atlanta had been cancelled due to an issue affecting crew availability.
The repeated cancellations have caused frustration among affected travellers, many of whom had already made arrangements based on their original travel schedules.
Passengers have expressed disappointment over the disruption, particularly following the cancellation of the replacement flight after they had been rebooked.
