Nigerian content creator and comedian, Officer Woos, has dismissed reports circulating on social media alleging that he announced the death of his colleague and close associate, Broda Shaggy.
The controversy began after an X (formerly Twitter) user, identified as @Ghost91on, claimed that Officer Woos had confirmed Broda Shaggy’s death through a post on Instagram.
The blogger shared a photograph of Broda Shaggy alongside a caption suggesting that the comedian had passed away and offering condolences.
Reacting to the claim, Officer Woos took to his Instagram story to debunk the report, describing it as false. Sharing a screenshot of the viral post, he simply wrote, “False.”
His legal representatives, Versed Attorneys, also issued a statement condemning the publication and describing it as misleading and malicious.
According to the statement, the reports were entirely fabricated and intended to misinform members of the public.
“We act as Solicitors to Mr Jubril Oladapo Gbadamosi, popularly known as Officer Woos. It has come to our client’s attention that certain unverified and anonymous social media pages have published claims alleging that our client publicly announced the death of a close colleague on his official page.
“Our client has never announced the death of any colleague, friend, or associate on any of his platforms. These publications are entirely manufactured and constitute a deliberate attempt to misinform the public,” the statement read.
The legal team further warned that those responsible for spreading the false information could face legal action.
The death rumour comes months after Broda Shaggy was reportedly shot while filming at the Sango-Ota Bridge in Ogun State in March 2026. Since the incident, the comedian has largely remained out of the public spotlight and has not publicly addressed the shooting.
Neither Broda Shaggy nor his management has issued any statement suggesting that the entertainer has died, while fans and supporters continue to dismiss the rumours as unfounded.
