President Bola Tinubu has publicly celebrated FCT Minister Nyesom Wike’s track record of project delivery in Abuja, describing him as a relentless executor who lives up to every assignment he is given.
The president made the remarks Monday during the commissioning of the newly constructed Court of Appeal Abuja Division complex, an event marking his administration’s third anniversary. Tinubu was represented at the ceremony by Vice President Kashim Shettima.
Speaking on Wike’s performance, Tinubu recalled that his confidence in the minister dated back to the moment of his appointment, saying he always knew Wike was not the type to rest on his laurels.

He noted that for too long, the Abuja division of the Court of Appeal had been operating out of a cramped, makeshift facility a situation he found unacceptable for an institution that serves as a pillar of justice. Upon inspecting the conditions himself, he said his instruction to the minister was straightforward: fix it.
“When I visited and saw the condition, I gave a simple directive ‘fix it’ and today we have fixed it,” the president said.
Tinubu praised Wike for the speed and discipline with which the project was executed, noting that the minister received the assignment in May 2024, had contractors mobilised to the site by July, and delivered the completed structure within the promised 16-month window without cost overruns or variations.

“Let me specially commend the Minister of the FCT, Nyesom Wike, for fully being Mr Project and Mr Fix-It,” Tinubu said. “When I appointed you as Minister of the FCT, I knew you would not sleep. Nigerians can see the difference well done, Wike.”
The commissioning of the Court of Appeal complex in Dakibiu is among a series of infrastructure projects the FCT administration has flagged as evidence of accelerated development in the capital under the current administration.
