The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has constituted appeal panels to review petitions arising from its recently concluded primary elections across presidential, governorship, and National Assembly positions.
The party said the move is aimed at strengthening internal democracy, ensuring transparency, and providing a structured mechanism for resolving disputes emerging from the primaries.
According to a statement issued on Thursday, the panels will sit in Abuja at the PDP National Working Committee (NWC) Hall, Wadata Plaza, Wuse Zone 5.

For State and National Assembly appeals, the panel is chaired by Barr. Suleiman Afolagbe, with eight other members, including Dr Erastus C. Awortu and Barr. Okoye Charles. Barr. Nnenna Aladum will serve as secretary. The panel is scheduled to sit on June 8 and 9, 2026.
The Governorship and Presidential Appeals Panel is chaired by Hon. Abdulrahman Mohammed and includes 22 members such as Yusuf Nya Akirikwen, SAN, Prof. Ogunshe Adedayo, and Sen. Samuel Anyanwu, who will serve as secretary. The panel is expected to commence sitting on June 10, 2026.
The PDP said the panels will hear complaints from aggrieved aspirants and stakeholders and make recommendations in line with the party’s constitution, electoral guidelines, and relevant laws.

It added that the initiative reflects the party’s commitment to credible candidate selection as preparations intensify ahead of the 2027 general elections.
