Troops of the Joint Task Force (North East), Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), have rescued six abducted civilians and arrested suspected terrorist collaborators during ongoing counter-insurgency operations across the North-East region.
The military disclosed that the operations were carried out under Operation DESERT SANITY as part of intensified efforts to dismantle terrorist networks and restore peace in the region.
In a statement issued on Tuesday by the Media Information Officer of Operation HADIN KAI, Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba, troops acting on credible intelligence successfully rescued six women and children during an operation conducted near Amuda in the Mandara Mountains area.
The operation followed an air interdiction mission targeting suspected terrorist movements around the area.
According to the military, the rescued victims — identified as Aisha Musa, 18; Aisha Mohammed, 17; Fatima Yahaya, 20; Saudatu Musa, 4; Garba Mohammed, 5; and three-month-old Mohammed Yahaya — were among residents of Ngoshe community abducted by Boko Haram/ISWAP insurgents during an attack on March 3, 2026.

The victims were immediately taken to a military medical facility for treatment before being reunited with their families through the community leader of Ngoshe, Mallam Adamu Gunda.
In a separate operation carried out in Konduga Local Government Area of Borno State, troops deployed at Tango 7 location arrested a suspected terrorist associate identified as Hauwa Bulama, 40.
Recovered items from the suspect included detergent, washing soap, a torchlight and seasoning cubes.
Preliminary investigations indicated that the suspect was allegedly on her way to Gezuwa to meet four of her children believed to be members of a terrorist group.
The military further disclosed that troops of Sector 2, supported by military intelligence operatives, also arrested two additional suspects identified as Bakura, 18, and Adiza, 17, during a follow-up operation in Damaturu, Yobe State.
According to the statement, the arrests were linked to an earlier operation involving the interception of a suspected ammunition courier, Ba’akaka Abubakar, also known as Modogol, who was allegedly planning to supply ammunition to terrorists.
Investigations reportedly revealed that Adiza had been assigned to collect ammunition from the courier for onward delivery to a terrorist commander.
The suspects are currently in military custody while efforts continue to apprehend the alleged terrorist commander and recover the ammunition.

The Joint Task Force reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining ongoing military operations aimed at rescuing abducted civilians, disrupting terrorist logistics and restoring lasting peace across the North-East.
The military high command also commended troops for their professionalism and resilience in the ongoing operations.
