The Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara has dismissed reports suggesting that he has defected from the All Progressives Congress, insisting that he remains loyal to the ruling party.
Speaking with journalists in Port Harcourt on Wednesday, the Rivers State governor described the reports as false and based on speculation circulating across social media and other media platforms.
Fubara said there had been growing misinformation regarding his political affiliation, stressing that no change had occurred in his membership status within the APC.

He cautioned members of the public and political commentators against concluding unverified online narratives, warning that misinterpretation of events often fuels unnecessary political tension.
According to the governor, political discussions should be guided by facts rather than assumptions or personal interpretations shared on digital platforms.
Reaffirming his commitment to the party, Fubara maintained that he remains fully aligned with the APC and has no intention of leaving.

He also emphasised the importance of unity and collective interest within the party, noting that political actors should prioritise the broader goals of the organisation above individual considerations.
