The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Olatunji Rilwan Disu, has officially flagged off the sensitisation campaign of the Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices (POCACOV), with activities set to commence across all State Police Commands.
This was contained in a statement signed by the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Anietie Okokon Edem Iniedu.
The initiative is part of the Nigeria Police Force’s efforts to strengthen proactive policing, community engagement, and the fight against cultism and other social vices through grassroots awareness, early intervention, and collaboration with key stakeholders.

As the Force’s flagship community policing programme, POCACOV aims to discourage young people from engaging in cultism, drug abuse, violent crime, and other criminal activities by promoting positive values and responsible behaviour.
The campaign will also strengthen partnerships between the police, schools, religious organisations, community leaders, and other stakeholders to enhance crime prevention and youth development.
The Nigeria Police Force reaffirmed its commitment to preventive policing strategies that protect young people from criminal influences, promote public safety, and foster peaceful communities across the country.
