The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) has launched a new toll-free emergency short-code, 3367, to improve emergency response, traffic management and public participation in road transportation across Lagos State.

According to the agency, the new platform replaces its previous communication line with a more accessible and technology-driven system that allows residents to report traffic-related emergencies free of charge on MTN, Glo and 9mobile (Etisalat) networks.

LASTMA said the hotline can be used to report broken-down vehicles, road accidents, stranded tankers, disabled trucks, traffic obstructions and other incidents requiring urgent intervention. It also provides a channel for members of the public to report the conduct of LASTMA officials, in line with efforts to promote transparency, accountability and professionalism.

The agency added that callers can communicate with operators in English, Yoruba and Pidgin English, ensuring wider accessibility and faster response regardless of language.

Speaking on the initiative, LASTMA General Manager, Olalekan Bakare-Oki, described the launch of the 3367 hotline as a significant step towards building a safer, more efficient and technology-driven transportation system in Lagos.

He said the platform offers residents a direct, convenient and cost-free means of reporting emergencies, noting that Lagos’ growing population requires innovative solutions to address traffic challenges.

Bakare-Oki assured residents that all reports received through the hotline would be treated professionally and confidentially before being forwarded to the appropriate operational units for immediate response.

He urged motorists and residents to make effective use of the hotline to improve road safety, enhance accountability and support the development of a more efficient traffic management system in Lagos State.
