Israeli military checkpoints and movement restrictions across the occupied West Bank are placing growing pressure on Palestinian businesses, increasing transport costs and disrupting trade, according to business owners and economic analysts.
Companies in areas such as Nablus say delays at checkpoints have affected supply chains, reduced sales and forced some employers to cut jobs. Al-Kamel Dairy Factory, a Palestinian-owned company, said prolonged delays have damaged deliveries of perishable goods and contributed to a decline in demand.
The company said some milk shipments have been delayed for hours at checkpoints, causing losses and forcing it to reduce its customer base outside Nablus.

Business owners say increased travel restrictions, combined with high unemployment and reduced income following the suspension of many Palestinian work permits in Israel, have further weakened economic activity.
A study by the Palestine Economic Policy Research Institute found that delays at military checkpoints have significantly increased travel times and resulted in substantial economic losses through lost working hours and higher transport expenses.

Palestinian officials and business leaders say continued restrictions on movement are limiting economic growth, disrupting employment and isolating communities across the West Bank.
Israel says security measures and checkpoints are necessary to prevent attacks, while Palestinians argue that the restrictions have created severe economic and humanitarian consequences.
