United States President, Donald Trump has announced that Washington and Tehran are expected to finalise a peace agreement on Sunday 14th June, describing the development as a major step toward easing tensions in the Middle East.
Speaking on the ongoing negotiations, Trump stated that the Strait of Hormuz, a critical global shipping route, would be fully accessible to all nations immediately after the agreement is signed.

Pakistan’s Prime Minister, Shehbaz Sharif, also expressed optimism about the talks, saying the negotiations have reached their final stage. According to him, the agreement could be concluded within the next 24 hours, followed by an electronic signing ceremony.
However, Iranian officials have offered a more cautious outlook. Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Esmaeil Baghaei said the document is unlikely to be signed on Sunday, although he acknowledged that an agreement could be reached within the coming days.
Despite the diplomatic progress, violence continues in the region. Reports indicate that at least five people were killed in separate Israeli military operations in southern Lebanon, highlighting ongoing security concerns even as efforts to secure a US-Iran accord advance.
Meanwhile, Iranian state media has announced funeral arrangements for the late Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. The ceremonies are scheduled to begin in Tehran on July 4, while his burial is expected to take place in the holy city of Mashhad on July 9.

The anticipated agreement between the United States and Iran is being closely watched worldwide, with many observers hoping it will contribute to greater stability across the Middle East and reduce the risk of further conflict in the region.
