The United States has condemned the killing of members of the family of Reverend Ezekiel Dachomo in Plateau State and called for those responsible to be brought to justice.

In a statement posted on X by the US State Department’s Bureau of African Affairs, Washington described the attack as horrific and expressed condolences to the victims’ families.

The United States urged Nigerian authorities to strengthen security measures to prevent further attacks and ensure the protection of Christians and other vulnerable communities in the country’s Middle Belt.

It also reaffirmed its commitment to working with the Nigerian Government to combat terrorism and violent extremism.

Nine members of Reverend Dachomo’s extended family, including a two-month-old baby, were killed in an attack on Kum community in Riyom Local Government Area of Plateau State on July 12.
