The United Nations Human Rights Office for Palestine has called on Israel to end what it described as its unlawful presence in the occupied West Bank and evacuate Israeli settlers from the territory.
The UN office also urged Israel to fulfil its obligations under international law amid escalating violence against Palestinians in the West Bank.
The call comes as violence involving Israeli settlers and security forces continues to raise concerns over the safety and displacement of Palestinian communities.
The UN Human Rights Office said ongoing settler and state violence in al-Mughayyir had resulted in the complete displacement of Palestinians from parts of the area.
Al-Mughayyir, a Palestinian village near Ramallah, is surrounded by eight Israeli settlement outposts.
According to UN data cited by the agency, nine Palestinians have been killed in the area since December 2025.
The latest violence comes amid a broader increase in attacks by Israeli settlers across the occupied West Bank.
The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs in the Occupied Palestinian Territory has documented more than 50 settler attacks in 2026, with incidents involving casualties or property damage.
The UN has also raised concerns over the alleged involvement or support of Israeli forces during some of the attacks.
The situation in al-Mughayyir has deteriorated further in recent days. On Wednesday, two Palestinian teenagers were killed during an incident involving Israeli settlers and soldiers in the village, according to Palestinian officials and residents.
The UN has repeatedly warned that settlement expansion, settler violence and restrictions on Palestinians are contributing to displacement and worsening humanitarian conditions across the West Bank.
The Israeli government disputes international characterisations of its settlement policy and maintains its own security justification for military operations in the West Bank.
