U.S. President Donald Trump has said a military campaign he described as “Operation Epic Fury” could come to an end if Iran accepts ongoing negotiation terms, while warning of intensified bombing if no agreement is reached.
In a statement, Trump indicated that the strategic Strait of Hormuz could be reopened to global traffic, including Iran, if the terms are accepted. He described the operation as “already legendary” and linked its conclusion to compliance by Tehran.
“If they don’t agree, the bombing starts, and it will be at a much higher level and intensity than it was before,” Trump said, signalling a potential escalation in hostilities.
The comments suggest a conditional approach in which de-escalation hinges on Iran’s response to negotiations. However, the specifics of the proposed terms and the operational details of “Epic Fury” were not immediately clear.
