The Council of Legal Education says 983 candidates, representing 54.7 per cent of those who sat the May 2026 Bar Final Resit Examination, failed the examination.
The Council disclosed this in a public notice signed by its Secretary and Director of Administration, Aderonke O. Osho, and released on Monday.
According to the notice, the results were approved at the Council’s Third Quarter Hybrid Meeting held on Thursday, August 13, 2026.
The Council said a total of 1,955 candidates sat for the examination.
Of the candidates who took the examination, 885 passed, while 55 candidates obtained conditional passes.
The latest result means that more than half of the candidates who participated in the resit examination were unsuccessful.
