United States President Donald Trump has raised the possibility of another military strike against Iran as early as Sunday, while indicating that Washington could still reach a diplomatic agreement with Tehran.

Trump said the United States was considering its next steps amid continuing tensions over the conflict, suggesting that further military action could become necessary if negotiations failed.

The president indicated that Washington might have to “finish the job” militarily but also acknowledged the possibility of reaching an agreement with Iranian authorities.

His remarks have renewed uncertainty over the direction of US policy towards Iran, with diplomatic efforts continuing alongside preparations for possible military escalation.

The comments come amid a prolonged confrontation involving the United States, Israel and Iran, which has heightened security concerns across the Middle East.

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, meanwhile, accused Washington of undermining negotiations aimed at securing an interim agreement.

In remarks broadcast on Iranian state television, Pezeshkian blamed American officials for the breakdown of discussions, describing them as responsible for disrupting the diplomatic process.

Despite his criticism, the Iranian president maintained that Tehran should continue pursuing negotiations to reach an agreement.

His position suggests that Iranian authorities remain publicly open to diplomacy even as relations with Washington remain strained.

The renewed uncertainty comes as regional tensions have intensified following missile attacks attributed to Yemen’s Houthi movement.

Saudi Arabia’s Civil Defence reported on Saturday that debris from two intercepted ballistic missiles fell in several locations, including Mecca, Jeddah, Taif and Rabigh.

Saudi authorities said emergency personnel responded to the affected areas after the missiles were intercepted.

The Houthis denied deliberately targeting the Islamic holy cities, maintaining that their military operations were directed at strategic and military installations.

Separately, Yemen’s internationally recognised government reported Houthi missile attacks on facilities in the southern port city of Aden.

The Houthis claimed responsibility for targeting military installations, although thíe full extent of the damage remained unclear.

The developments have heightened concerns about the possibility of a wider regional confrontation, particularly as attacks and retaliatory threats continue across several countries.

Diplomatic efforts involving regional mediators have sought to prevent further escalation and establish conditions for renewed negotiations between Washington and Tehran.

However, the possibility of additional military action remains unresolved.

As of the latest reports, no confirmed US military strike order for Sunday had been announced, and no new agreement between the two countries had been finalised.
