Troops of the Joint Task Force North East, Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), have rescued six more kidnapped persons in Borno State as part of ongoing efforts to recover abducted students of Government Day Secondary School, Lassa.
The development was disclosed in a statement by the Acting Military Information Officer of Operation HADIN KAI, Captain Mohammed Goni, who said the latest success was achieved through sustained air and ground operations supported by credible intelligence.
According to the statement, troops rescued six victims—four adults and two infants—in Talakawa, Chibok Local Government Area. The victims were among those abducted in May from Mussa community in Askira/Uba Local Government Area.

Following the rescue, the victims were taken to a secure location where they are undergoing medical examinations and receiving necessary care.
Operation HADIN KAI said relief materials and other essential items have also been provided to help the victims recover from their ordeal, while arrangements are being made to reunite them with their families.
The military described the rescue as another indication of the effectiveness of the ongoing coordinated search-and-rescue operation involving the Armed Forces of Nigeria, the Borno State Government, other security agencies and auxiliary forces.
The statement reaffirmed the commitment of security forces to securing the release of all remaining abductees.
Meanwhile, troops are continuing to pursue the fleeing terrorists, maintaining pressure along their withdrawal routes to limit their operational freedom.

During the operation, soldiers recovered 50 rounds of PKT ammunition abandoned by the insurgents, a development the military said reflected the intensity of the offensive and the disarray among the terrorists as they retreated under sustained military pressure.
