Troops of Sector 2, Operation Fansan Yamma, have rescued six kidnapped victims during an operation against suspected terrorists in Wasagu Local Government Area of Kebbi State.
The rescue operation was carried out on September 2 at Mehinua Village, along the Wasagu-Ayu Road, following credible intelligence on terrorist activity in the area.

In a statement, the Media Information Officer, Lt. Col. Aliyu Danja, said troops mobilised to the location after receiving the intelligence and engaged the terrorists in a gun battle.

“Troops’ prompt intervention forced the terrorists to flee and abandon their victims,” he said.
Danja said the six victims were rescued unharmed and, alongside the vehicle recovered from the scene, handed over to relevant community authorities for further action.
He said the successful operation demonstrated the troops’ determination to protect the lives and property of law-abiding residents within the Joint Operations Area.
Operation Fansan Yamma thanked members of the public for their continued support and urged residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to the nearest security outpost.
