Troops of the 17 Brigade of the Nigerian Army have neutralised three suspected terrorists during an ambush operation in Dutsin-Ma Local Government Area of Katsina State.
According to a statement issued by the Acting Assistant Director of Army Public Relations, Captain Abayomi Adisa, the operation was carried out late Friday night along the Turare–Kitibawa–Kuka–Mai Damusa Road by troops deployed at the Forward Operating Base (FOB) FUDMA.
The Army said the troops had taken up strategic blocking positions as part of ongoing offensive operations against terrorists and other criminal elements operating within the state.
At about 9:40 p.m. on May 9, the troops reportedly intercepted a group of terrorists said to be fleeing sustained military operations in the Matazu general area, leading to an ambush.
During the operation, three suspected terrorists were killed, while troops recovered one AK-47 rifle, a magazine loaded with three rounds of ammunition, one motorcycle, three cutlasses, assorted charms, and a cash sum of ₦3,500.

The military said troops have continued aggressive operations against criminal groups with the aim of restoring peace and security across Katsina State.
The Army also called on residents to support ongoing operations by providing credible intelligence to security agencies to help eliminate criminal activities in the state.
