Topfaith University, Mkpatak, Akwa Ibom State, has celebrated the graduation of 130 students at its second convocation ceremony, reaffirming its commitment to academic excellence, innovation and the development of graduates equipped with practical skills.

The ceremony, held over the weekend, brought together university officials, graduating students and other stakeholders to celebrate academic achievements and assess the institution’s progress since its establishment.

Addressing the gathering, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Patrick Ebewo, congratulated the graduands on completing their academic programmes, describing their achievements as products of resilience, dedication and determination.

Ebewo reiterated the university’s commitment to competency-based, learner-centred and results-oriented education, stressing the importance of producing graduates capable of applying their knowledge to real-world challenges.

He encouraged the graduating students to build on the knowledge and skills acquired during their studies and uphold the institution’s values as they pursue professional and personal development.

The Vice-Chancellor also highlighted the importance of maintaining academic standards while equipping students with the practical competencies required in an increasingly competitive society.

UNIVERSITY EXPANDS ACADEMIC PROGRAMMES

Earlier, the Chancellor of the university, His Royal Majesty, Edidem Raymond Timothy Inyang, highlighted the institution’s growth, disclosing that its academic programmes had increased from 16 at inception to 26.

According to the Chancellor, the expansion reflects the university’s efforts to broaden educational opportunities and respond to growing demand for quality higher education.

He noted that the introduction of additional programmes had contributed to increased student enrolment and strengthened the institution’s capacity to accommodate learners across different disciplines.

The Chancellor described the development as an important milestone in the university’s continuing efforts to establish itself as a centre of academic excellence.

Also speaking, the Proprietor and Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Dr Emmanuel T. Abraham, reflected on the institution’s achievements within five years of its establishment.

Abraham described the progress recorded in academic development, programme expansion and student performance as encouraging, reaffirming his commitment to supporting excellence in education.

BEST GRADUATING STUDENT RECEIVES ₦1 MILLION

A major highlight of the convocation was the recognition of Uwak Uniokid Mfon as the university’s best graduating student for 2026.

Mfon received a cash award of ₦1 million from the institution’s proprietor, Dr Emmanuel T. Abraham, in recognition of her outstanding academic performance.

Speaking with RismadarVoice Reporters, Mfon reflected on her academic journey and explained how the university identified and nurtured her potential through its educational approach.

Her recognition highlighted the institution’s emphasis on discovering individual abilities, encouraging academic discipline and supporting students in achieving excellence.

Abraham’s presentation of the award also reinforced the university’s stated commitment to rewarding exceptional academic achievement and motivating other students to pursue outstanding results.

Another significant feature of the ceremony was the immediate presentation of degree certificates to the graduating students.

The arrangement enabled the graduates to receive their academic certificates during the convocation rather than waiting for subsequent collection.

The university described its educational direction as one focused on developing knowledgeable, competent and responsible graduates prepared to contribute meaningfully to society.

The second convocation marked another stage in Topfaith University’s institutional development, with its leadership expressing confidence in continued academic growth and the preparation of graduates for professional opportunities and national development.
