The Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara has declared President Bola Tinubu the winner of the All Progressives Congress presidential primary election in Rivers State after the president secured a total of 280,468 votes across the state’s 23 local government areas.
Fubara, who served as the State Coordinator and Collation Officer for the exercise, announced the outcome after collating results from all councils, stating that Tinubu won all votes cast during the primary election.
According to the results announced, Tinubu’s sole challenger, businessman Stanley Osifo, failed to secure any vote in all the local government areas declared by the party officials.

Speaking during the declaration of results, Governor Fubara commended party leaders, electoral officials and stakeholders for conducting what he described as a peaceful, orderly and credible exercise throughout the state.
The governor disclosed that the APC had a total of 297,068 registered members recognised as legitimate voters for the presidential primary in the state, while 280,082 members were accredited and participated in the election.
“I have taken time to go through the figures diligently and I hereby certify that the information contained in this form represents the true, correct and accurate summary of results from the 23 local government areas,” Fubara stated while announcing the final tally.
A breakdown of the results showed that Obio/Akpor recorded the highest number of votes for Tinubu with 28,680 votes.
Port Harcourt followed with 17,522 votes, while Khana delivered 17,085 votes for the president.
Other local government areas where Tinubu recorded significant figures included Gokana with 16,652 votes, Eleme with 16,258 votes, Etche with 15,930 votes and Ahoada East with 15,161 votes.
In Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni, Tinubu polled 14,669 votes, while Emohua returned 14,584 votes.
The president also secured 11,124 votes in Okrika, 10,254 votes in Oyigbo and 10,170 votes in Ikwerre.

Further results announced by the governor showed that Asari-Toru delivered 9,961 votes, Akuku-Toru recorded 9,586 votes, while Andoni returned 8,879 votes.
Tai gave Tinubu 8,325 votes, while Ogu/Bolo delivered 7,491 votes and Degema recorded 7,175 votes.
In the remaining local government areas, Opobo/Nkoro returned 6,046 votes, Bonny delivered 5,892 votes, while Omuma recorded 5,364 votes.
Governor Fubara noted that although the final results from the state would be transmitted to the party’s national headquarters in Abuja for final ratification, the outcome from Rivers State clearly confirmed President Tinubu as the overwhelming winner of the APC presidential primary in the state.
