The Supreme Court of Nigeria has unveiled its Electronic Filing System and the Nigeria Case Management System, marking a major step towards the digital transformation of the nation’s judicial process.
Speaking at the launch, the President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Mazi Afam Osigwe, SAN, described the initiative as a bold and visionary reform that would enhance efficiency, transparency and access to justice.

Osigwe commended the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Kudirat Motonmori Olatokunbo Kekere-Ekun, GCON, the Justices of the Supreme Court and the judiciary for embracing technology to improve justice delivery, stressing that institutions that fail to innovate risk becoming irrelevant.
He noted that technology is now indispensable to modern legal practice, adding that the NBA has also advanced its digital transformation agenda through the relaunch of the NBA Digital Stamp and Seal and the introduction of the NBA Digital Signature Studio.
The NBA President pledged the association’s full support for the successful implementation of the electronic filing platform, disclosing that nationwide awareness and capacity-building programmes would be organised to equip lawyers with the necessary digital skills.

Osigwe expressed confidence that the Electronic Filing System and the Nigeria Case Management System would improve case management, reduce delays in the administration of justice and align Nigeria’s judiciary with global best practices.
